The Ring of Kerry

By DiegoDesigns
The Ring of Kerry is a tourist route in County Kerry, south-western Ireland. The route covers a 179 kilometre circular road, starting from Killarney, heading around the Iveragh Peninsula and passing through Kenmare, Sneem, Waterville, Cahersiveen and Killorglin.

Although it was very wet whilst we were there a couple of weeks ago, it was just the sort of weather to bring out the best of there derelict cottages, which are dotted around the place.

Thanks for looking in and all comments are most welcome.

Beautiful shot and deserving of much more attention. It would be so easy to overcook an image like this; glad you kept the feeling subdued - it suits the subject matter.

Thanks Rende, I'm glad you liked it. Thanks Fraser, it took a lot of adjustments to get it right - so I'm delighted with the responses. We searched all over to find these derelicts Brian - a lot have been pulled down and replaced with characterless Lego-style bungalows! Sad indeed Christina, but photogenic too. Thanks for all the support on this one - cheers... Dave

Is that a little glimst of the sea on the right Dave ? I find this a slightly haunting, almost dreamlike, image. But then I have only just woken up !
Lovely colours throughout.

Thanks for that Clive, the mist in the background is rolling down a steep hillside (no sea in sight!). Glad you liked the feel of it, cheers... Dave

Its good to see someone not letting the weather get in the way of taking a good image--also not swapping it straight to B&W
