The Rising Sun

By subashcr
A beautiful sunrise at Mahamallapuram, India...Though the subject was too far, I shot this image at 90mm (Raw) and then croped it. so there is little bit of visibility of noise and not too sharp.

The obvious thing that comes to my mind is Japan, perhaps its just the image of the sun that does it Smile but its very Japanese. If you had said that it was taken of shore of Japan i would have belived you.

A lovely image. Wink

Its a lovely shot. Its a shame that the sun is partially covered by cloud.

Hello Subash,

I know exactly what David means, this also reminded me of a Japanese scene. Quite nice in itself. Pity you had to crop so much, but the noise can be handled with plug-ins for Photoshop or stand-alone programs (for the modification I uploaded I used the free Noiseware Community Edition stand-alone program). To make the most of what little colour you had in here, I upped saturation a bit, used selective colour to enhance the reds a little more, and finally I sharpened the image again.

It's not perfect, just a quickie, but it could give you some ideas to work with.

Very nice shot - reminds me of a particular Monet painting.

Hey, nice shot and the noise doesn't bother me, actually - what does a bit, is the (I think) oversaturation of the colour red which leaves stains of red inside the sun, would ease that down an little. Grtz, Ingrid.
