The Road

By MonochromeTear
Having the tripod in the road was a bit of a scary affair but thankfully the road was quiet...The second image from my excursion this morning, really couldn't decide between this and the other so uploaded both...Please do let me know which you prefer.

This is very similar to the upload from yesterday but I couldn't decide which I prefered.

I think I actually prefer this one, even though the colour is cooler and more ominous. The other warmer version is lovely, but the mist here is more atmospheric. The other thing which I think is making me swing more towards this one is how the trees reach the edges of the frame more. That wee bump in the road is more evident here, too, which gives a slight feeling of disquiet to an otherwise tranquil setting.

I also like how the horizon line is slightly lower in this one - I suppose it shouldn't matter, but I think it kinda does?

The only thing I might do with this one is to clone out that road sign part way down, on the right.

As I'm typing this, I've just thought of something else too - in the other warmer version, all the perspective lines come together at that point of warmth at the end of the road in the distance. Which, maybe psychologically, is 'comfortable' because it's a 'known' destination. Here, because that isn't happening, there's more mystery and even perhaps a sense of sinister ... as though following that road could get you lost between the curtains of reality ... Grin

Maybe bonkers, but that's what I think!

Thanks everyone for your comments.

TanyaH, you are right I think I'm also leaning more towards this, mainly because of the bump in the road which I think adds so much more to this one.
