The Rolling Stones

By debster
Hi everyone,

Mike would be able to give you a great history lesson about these stones - I wish I could remember just half of what he told me on Saturday.

Mike, this one's for you as without you pointing it out I'd probably not have stopped to take this Smile

Thanks for looking,

Ooooh, it's a JCB Mk. 1*!!! And well up to your usual high standard, Debbie!

(*Sorry, that's a bit of an in-joke. Certain people in the large-format fraternity like to refer to any round boulder as a 'Joe Cornish Boulder' (JCB), after the spherical rock in his famous Elgol picture...)

Thanks everyone. I've never seen one before but it made for a great focal point Smile

PS Julian, imagine how I'll be when I've saved up enough for the large format Smile

Another great location Debbie but I prefer it without the top. Scrolling down to just above the tide line really concentrates on that boulder (and you lose the halo).Wink

That is some rock Debs or is it the wide-angle making it look bigger than it really is by pushing the background further away?
Either way, makes a great picture!

I like your take on it Debbie. Sharpness all the way through counts on a shot like this and it really shows.

I'm glad you got this impressive shot, Debbie, because I remember Mike telling us that these were the fossilized bowls from prehistoric palm trees.
