The romance of the 'other'

Daisymaye posted a shot of Grand Central Station, New York, a few days ago, reminding me of my own visit eight years back (and also prompting me, soon, to go to what used to be New Street Station in Birmingham to photograph the new look, now dubbed 'Grand Central'...)

What you are not used to is interesting and glamorous: the familiar is workaday, however wonderful.

And I wish that British stations had as much room, and showed as much pride as this place did!

I like the play of light and shadows here. It means mono would be an option but I fear that would lose the lovely warmth which makes this appealing.
Be thankful for modern high ISO performance if you're going to New Street Wink

An interesting set John, I particularly like your opener but if the Roof was removed this morning it could be used as a Skating Rink.

Lovely series, the lead reminds me of a Lowry painting, all the people look so isolated.

I must go check and see if I've got one showing the green ceiling. I don't recall it so green. A great set John, still looks much the same and still very impressive.
Just looked and must have trashed it if I had one. I always tend to gravitate to people. I love people in my images. I love looking at their expressions. There's always a story in them.
