The Royal Armouries

By Philo
Another from the wet and miserable visit to Clarence Dock. This time concentrating on the reflections, in particular the Royal Armouries building that dominates the left hand side of the image.
This time I left WB as shot to maintain the colour in the sky. To the naked eye the sky just looked grey so the colour was a nice surprise.
Once again any feedback and mods most welcome.

Great City night scene, exposure for me is prefect, also great composition, had to look quite hard to see any negatives and maybe (and that is a big maybe) chop a bit from the left hand side and the top of the tower in the reflection.
But great photo.

Very nice Phil. I wonder how you removed distortions, as the building on the left has odd dimensions.

For the first time, I used the Adaptive Wide Angle tool in CS6 and came up with the mod. But I think it would have worked better with the original, uncorrected image.

Willie, a very interesting observation and the mod definitely improves things. All I have done to the original is apply a 0.2 degree clockwise rotation. I haven't even applied the lens profile correction, though I did mean to, so I can only put it down to natural distortion and perhaps the shape of the building?
The question is: how do I repeat your mod in CS5? I will have a play and see what I can do.

Thanks,

Phil

A really dramatic and colourful evening shot with very little comment on the critique side needed - I think Willie's mod on the tower is good and, yes, may be a touch off the left hand side but never the less, it is a great image.
I remember going there not long after it had opened and being very impressed.
