The Shadow of Your Stile ... or Style ...

By Ericsamson
A shadowy selfie resembling an arthritic, fluteless version of Jethro Tull (the doyen of one legged rock flautists and not the hero of the agrarian revolution noted for the efficiency with which he spread his seed ... 🥴 ... calm down Mrs Trellis.) Thanks to vaulting ambition I finally succeeded in getting my leg over. The other one fell off and had to be posted on to me.

Many thanks for the very kind responses to 'I talk to the trees'; you've made an old man very happy!

Yours, as thick as a brick, The Minstrel in the Gallery. (Yes, that old. 🥴 )

Michael Moseley said stand on one leg to clean your teeth to improve your balance, not while taking a picture...
No idea what you are talking about.

Still, it was a new day yesterday but tomorrow my Sunday feeling will come up over me
And as we used to know, nothing is easy

'Stand up' properly. It will 'benefit' you.

Ian Anderson was his name. Dragged up from the darkest recesses of what's left of my memory.
I shall refrain from all leg over comments.

What a good idea, and perfectly photographed, except he might have a job getting his long leg over the style!! A lovely rural setting you have chosen, Graham, as the location.

The classic, medically approved stance to better enable venting bodily orifices...

As an aside, and purely coincidentally, and absolutely nothing at all to do with the above sentence, "full speed" in Norwegian is "full fart"...

That is a rather sly way of climbing onto a stile without getting your wellies muddy, Mr Graham sir: get your shadow to do it for you. Just so long as you remembered to adopt the same procedure when descending on the other side Blush

Excellent shadow, composition and tones. The hedgerow is sorely in need of a trim post-lockdown; and so say all of us.

Very pleasing.

I bet you had to duck to avoid head contact with the overhanging branches with legs(well, one at least!) that long!
I once saw Jethro Tull and his band at a pub in Tolworth Towers in 1968 - just for the record!!Smile

Dr Michael Moseley writes and broadcasts on health: he has a current series on Radio 4 about things that are simple and good for you: he recommends standing on one leg while cleaning your teeth to improve balance.

General advice for taking pictures is to stand on as many legs as possible.
