The show must go on

By astyag
Dear EPZers,

Tonight is winter solstice from tomorrow we are officially entering winter season in northern hemisphere while down unders are entering summer. While I am writing this write up I have sweats falling down on my forehead here in Dubai. I don't know whether I am in northern hemisphere or southern hemisphere?! Enough of my woe's, I think many of you must be furious of what I have said so far, shivering while reading my write up.

Dubai is down, construction. However, the show is going on bit by bit. As part of my work (Foundation drilling and piling) I visited one of the in progress foundation sites of my client, I took this photo of a guy welding the new flat teeth to the bucket so that to drill down and build the foundation for the upcoming 60 story skyscraper. I am somehow a happy man these days. there are works and progresses. And have Qatar 2022 construction ahead of me too. God willing, the harsh inflation that hit me severely, and many others, is getting behind and becoming some kind of sweet or sour memory...
God bless you all and may we all pass these hard days, cold, inflation, war, famine, extremism and hatred behind and may we all march towards better days, Amen.

Regards and stay safe
Astyag

A very good image. I love the flare from the welding torch. 60 stories - makes me dizzy to think of it. Seasons Greetings to you and your family.
PS I have to work this Christmas Day because I am a nurse and it is my turn to work. However this will be my last Christmas to work as I will retire in August. Smile Smile

i like the processing of this one, and I heartily agree with your comments regarding hope for the coming year.

I am not shivering either, nor is especially hot here - only 79F today, but it will get a bit cold again this weekend.

How did I miss this! I am angry with myself! So sorry! Wonderful processing here Astyag.

As for the economics of the world, I am afraid for many of us in the UK times are even harder and worse is to come. Heaven help the young people - I feel so bad for them - so many being put out of work - women are being hit especially hard. How the world has changed is such a short time.

I do hope things are still going well economically for you though I know you have more important things to worry about. God keep you safe.
