Good morning mate...

Nice couple of variants you have here.. actually I believe that both are better than your original upload.

I simply can't pick a favourite Tongue, which it's a good thing!

Good work on your long exposure series at Blue Grotto...

Cheers mate

Both great images Alistair, but I prefer the mono version as there is so much texture.....GrinGrin

V1 is inspired - dark and disturbing.

Thanks for the comments, I prefer the mono version myself too, as the textures did indeed come out better, plus there's a much more moody atmosphere to the image than in the colour variant. Smile

Still, I uploaded both given their similarity and after all we are all different and have different preferences. The Variant option suits such a circumstance perfectly.

Two cracking images!! I can't chose between them - i like the crop on V2 and the overall effect of V1.

v1 has the drama, but v2 is a winner for the contrasty colours and composition.

Dave's right about composition - V2's composition is better as excluding the metal elements up top ends in a cleaner finish, right? Still, I like the textures in V1 better and I think B/W suits this kind of image so well, so I'm thinking this needs a V3... tonight's project. hehe... That would be V2 in black and white, with a little more texture. Let's see if we can improve on these two images.

For me the colour is a more inviting composition generated by the inclusion of the light which for me sends out a message ofGrinGrinGrin refuge and safety, whilst on the other hand the monochrome variant screams out a rather haunting message.
