"In 2010, to commemorate the centenary of the Air Show held in the county town of Lanark, a memorial statue was erected on the railway embankment at Lanark Loch. This statue, "The Spirit of Flight", was constructed by P. Johnston and company of Ratho Byres Forge and shows replicas of three of the aircraft that actually flew at Lanark one hundred years earlier: a Bristol Box Kite, a Bleriot and an Antoinette.".
I was so surprised to learn about this Air Show, which was centred at the Lanark Horse Racing Track. I had no idea. I only fired off the one quick shot when I was there in the summer, being too busy with other interesting subjects, but I shall be after some better shots on my return.
Had to do a B&W of this too. V1.
