The Squirrel - Man Interface

The squirrels in Chester are really friendly. This one kissed my hand for giving it some nuts Wink

Those claws are sharp, but it was very gentle.

It was difficult to get the depth of field right. I set it at about 6 inches, but he came a lot closer to the lense than that! In fact at one point he climbed onto it, but I wasn't quick enough to get a shot off. Data - 1/50 sec, f13, 14mm zoom.

Taken on the recent Chester Meet. It was a fun time and I met some nice people. Hope to renew those acquaintances soon Smile

Sorry I ain't been commenting recently - computer & internet problems, but they are now fixed... probably temporarily though Sad knowing my luck.

It is a shame about the dof as you say in your description, but sometimetimes the moment is more important than the technical quality, and this is quite a moment.

Anna - it was taken in a park next to the river in Chester. They are really fearless and will come close to you if you have the right food Smile

This one makes me laugh, I have a similar idea of leaving some food in the lens hood and remote releasing for a close and wide shot so like your shot the head is slightly bigger for the amusing factor, great stuff Smile and well caught
