The Station Master

By Mike Gray
Best viewed large and thanks for your comments

Well a few people like KeithH are posting railway images and whilst out with Maddie on Sunday, we popped to Swanage railway. Here is the Station Master doing his job and wearing his poppy with pride, the guy was very old and was more than happy to pose for people, but this shot was a grab shot and i like the soft colour from the afternoon sun across his face that has made the rest of the image dark.
Image pretty well as it came out of the camera.

Thanks for looking

Regards
Mike

Quote:more than happy

Well he fooled me! What does he look like when he's not happy?
A super capture, even a super portrait. The ray of sunshine in this picture is falling on him, not shining from him. Good work, it made me smile.

Very good portrait Mike. The lighting is good and you've captured him nicely. Small nit is the light patch in the righthand BG. Not too much though.

@ChrisOs, yes mine was a grab shot which i feel showed the chap as he really was, he did like to show he was the grumpy station master and he did smile when he was asked to pose.

@nothsafoto i cant be perfect all the time, but as my description says image allmost as it came out of the camera and i wanted a natural picture.

Thanks
