The Struggle

By KingBee
Many thanks indeed to everyone who voted and commented on, and gave awards for (I have thanked each of these individually) my recent upload, "AZ on fire".

Hope to get back to the Fringe tomorrow. In the meantime, here is a view shot from a lay-by on an aptly-named stretch of road in Cumbria which runs from the Kirkstone Pass (A592) to Ambleside. It is first-gear, white-knuckle stuff most of the way: drivers who have little or no experience of this sort of thing are strongly advised to opt for a less challenging route!

Atmosphere in spades here, Bob, with the eye drawn straight towards the subject. Very good work and worth the hair-raising drive. Allan

The Struggle was included in the Tour of Britain bike race some years ago. Apparently Bradley Wiggins got off and walked up...

It's a cracking bit of road, especially in winter.
Once coasted down it into Ambleside, in my 30 1965 mini after the electrics (or what passed for them) took a soaking, similar to soaking I took in the Kirkstone Pass Inn. Tongue
Great shot Bob, brought back memories Wink

Looks like white-knuckle weather on the way as well!
