The Tenth Commandment

By mrswoolybill
I suspect that the modern translation of ‘Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s ox’ is ‘Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s set of wheels’.
According to my notes we have:
V1 - 1987 Mercedes 300SL
V2 - VW Type 2
V3 - 1965 Ford Cortina Mark 2
V4 - 1930 Austin Heavy 12/4 - carefully labelled Please do not touch
Please don’t expect any more information than I can glean from the event programme, and I hope nobody seriously thinks that I went to a car show to photograph cars. I distinguish vehicles, if at all, by colour, size, comfort of seats and number of wheels. There were two three-wheelers, yesterday’s Messerschmitt plus a Reliant Robin. Both were red. Deliberately confusing, if you ask me...
Thanks for looking,
Moira

Love the tags Moira! Your feelings about motor cars is the same as mine. Great observation as usual of people "entertaining" themselves.

Version 4 with its low point of view and more investigative attenadants is my fave.
Another good collection !

Good set. I particularly like #4.

Thans Mrs Eagle Eyes for pointing out the problems with my war memorial image. I have now corrected it and put a new version up. The strange thing is that it has been judeged several times and has done very well but no one else seems to have spotted it. Thanks again

Whenever I go to these shows I always keep my distance, but there is always someone who has to break the rules. Nice set of shots and cars.

Yes this definitely comes under the "or anything that belongs to your neighbour" category.
I like v4. I like a really good look if I'm going to take one and the reflection is a great addition.
Now I'm just wondering what draws his eyes to the front and hers to the back in v1? Any idea?

I love the title to go with these Moira as it seems to fit the candids perfectly; great studies of the admiring looks.
So from your comment are you starting a petition for a regulation that says that a cars colour is directly related to it's features
Tim
P.S. To my taste, I hope #3 isn't allowed on the road; in my opinion the colour alone would cause accidents

Thank you everyone.
Tim - Last time Bill changed car, a friend of mine was telling her husband about it. He asked what Bill had decided on and she replied 'grey'.
To me, that makes perfect sense.

As not a driver myself,I tend to judge cars on their colour and lines.Saw a red sports Mercedes in a showroom the other day.
You would need a second mortgage to buy it tho' !!! That reminds me,my bus pass needs renewed this week.
As you mention, images more about the people here, and not the cars.Good studies of curiousity and concentration here Moira.
Noticebly more so with the red cars !!!!

Cars??? are about as low on my totem pole as they can get, so I tend to ignore them, but you have photographed them and their admirers well-- I especially like the co-ordinating colors (reds) h in this set--1 and 2

3 and 4 finally have appeared-- I like the # 4 vehicle!

The very best thing about going to car shows is to look at people and their reactions to the vehicles. My husband drooled over a Triumph TR6 for 10 minutes, and I couldn't drag him away.

Great set of images Moira, like the shiny bright cars, am happy that they are not mine, cause I hate to wash the car - hence ours is always dirty!
Super candids, it is nice to see how people show interest in these objects.
