The top step

By mrswoolybill
Looking down on a flight of steps at the back of Jesmond Dene Visitor Centre. Taken during our first social meeting with a friend after lockdown.
The last of my little series of bleach bypass simulations – I pushed the desaturation slider quite hard here.
The great advantage of digital over darkroom is that if you push the sliders too far you can push them back again...
Thanks for looking,
Moira

Looking at this reminds me of Trigger in Only Fools And Horses. When talking about his broom.
After 20 years as a street cleaner, Trigger claims to be using the very same broom as the day he started. The only caveat, as Trigger proudly boasts, is that “this old broom’s had 17 new heads and 14 new handles in its time.”
Also the shovel with the short handle here has been made for a certain use...

Great shot.

My grandfather was a fanatical gardener. We never went for a drive in the New Forest without a bucket and shovel in the back of the car... Wink
Thanks folks, and good morning.

It's been an interesting little series Moira, I'm going to have to experiment with this process too.
I like the faded and limited colour palette here, and a still life of ordinary everyday objects taken in situ.

Provided for visitors to use? If they cannot contribute to the upkeep in a financially, then a couple of minutes with the broom or shovel is always appreciated.

Great viewpoint and capture, Moira, working well in the square format 👍 The shovel to the left reminds me of the one we had when I were a lad. I got sent out to the coal house with the coal scuttle, and armed with the shovel, would have to fill it 😬
