The Torch

By Soom
The 2012 Olympic Torch & Torch Bearer Number 108.

Taken yesterday 21st May 2012 in Taunton, day 3 of the Olympic Torch Relay. There were huge crowds and a great atmosphere, even the sun came out.

This is Torch Bearer number 108, but I have been unable to find her name.

All the torchbearers have great stories to tell be it fighting an illness, or carrying out voluntary work, etc., so I was really disappointed both by for turning up to carry the torch and by the media coverage which showed hardly any of the worthy torch bearers as all the 'limelight' was taken up by the American Singer he was also 'tweeting' whilst carrying the torch!

So just doing my part to show one of the 'ordinary' members of public with probably an extraordinary story to tell thereby giving her this proud moment - history in the making!

Thanks for looking, comments and votes welcome!

Thanks for your comments.
Hope you get some good images zapar, make sure you get a good view point - the crowds are huge, I'd imagine a Saturday in the sun it will be even busier!
Thanks Cats, I have trawled through the pages on the Olympic Torch relay pages, but can't pin point this young girl - she was the one that handed over to

I share your sentiment. Who needs celebrities when there are a great many worthy individuals who have contributed so much to so many worthwhile causes.
