The Twenty Foot Drain

By fentiger
This "river" is actually the Twenty Foot drain and one of several cut to drain the Fens initiated by Sir Cornelius Vermuyden in the 15th Century. We also have in the area the Forty Foot and the Sixteen Foot. I understand they get their names from the distance from bank to bank.

Interesting landscape with gret depth, suits the mono touch too, makes it somehow look like an old painting.

Great shot Albert, love the tones and the wind turbine in the distance although that spoils the old fashioned painting idea.
Super.

This is exactly how I imagine the Fens, right down to the heavy sky. Classic composition, the canal and tree working together.

On the railway we use the same form of measurment between the lines Albert. The four foot, six foot and ten foot.Interesting this applies to the waterways too.
Nice tones here for good image.
