The Unwelcome Guest.

By Tooma
ONE FROM MO.

"Something dreadful is stalking the upper gallery in Highcliff Manor. The guests who have arrived for the party are unaware....well, most of them. One poor reveller, who has ventured up to the gallery to admire the artwork, is in for a nasty shock. She is about to find out exactly who the most unwelcome visitor of all is, at the party."

It's one of three,

It's Gussie Finknottle trying to retrieve an escaped newt from the shoulder of Mo before she realises it's there. ( For the confused, consult Graham aka Cyril Joystick).

It's the old 'one two', a tap on the shoulder with one hand as the other delves into Mos handbag to relieve her of her spare eyes, secreted in the twixt wrapper, amongst the fluff and rubber bands.

The hand is caught rapidly retreating from it's previous position patting Mos bottom as it's owner has heard Tom, coming to Mos rescue, smashing through the window SAS Embassy siege style, on the end of a rope from a helicopter outside. After all, with his degree in breaking and entering and drainpipe shinning, a straight forward dangle and smash for our intrepid hero would be a piece of the proverbial Mr.Kipling!

Oh look, the nice ladies have arrived with my medication, looks like it's time for another 23 hour sleep.Wink

Ps. A most excellent image!!!

Quite an eye-catching scenario with lots of tension. The hand reaching out coupled with those wide open eyes enough to give you nightmares. Well thought out and executed. Worth my UA for the work involved in producing it.

Dear Dave, we are positively reeling from your high octane description of this thrilling historical event. We have been in touch with Handly Plumtree, the best film director this side of Carstairs, and he is very interested in this project. It is early days, of course, but he was dropping names like nobody's business, and I don't want to speak too soon but the surnames "Oddie" and "Brooke-Taylor" were being bandied about as the two male leads.....and "Vorderman" for the female role.

We will keep you posted, dear fellow. Sit tight!

Gadzooks my liege - I find myself pre-empted by the magnificent Bertie Wooster (Bluesandtwos). God bless him and all who sale with him across the turbulent waters of Sywell Reservoir. However, I have not been idle and once again I have rummaged in the archives to discover the documented truth behind this captivating image. What we have here is a jpeg engraving exquisitely worked by the master engraver Thomas J Peg, very likely in his workshop on the shores of Loch Behindya in the remote region of Gormless Cairns. The subject is Lady Windermere in search of her fan but finding instead the corrupted remains of Dorian's fifty shades of grey. What a blessing that she has an ideal husband.

Must dash as I now have to spring dear old Bertie from Cell 3 and get him back to Jeeves before ‘the nice ladies’ headed by Aunt Agatha try to administer his medicated Ovaltine. As I depart, somewhat the worse for a touch of colonic breeziness, I have no choice but to administer the gong ... gong with the wind ... (the therapy isn't working ....... or is it? ............)

I remain yours, subject to the customary assessments, Oscar 'Newts' Ferrell aka Gussy Finknottle. SmileSmileSmile
