The Wedding 2 Sunrise

By mrswoolybill
The morning of the wedding day. This is Sarah's bouquet. She is fond of the Lensbaby, I intended to use it more than I actually did but was pleased with this one. I wanted to create the effect of a floral sunrise, the rose with radial blur rising like sunrays.
The official photographer hadn't encountered an LB before and had fun playing with it when not otherwise engaged.
V2 is a more conventional shot taken with my 50mm f1.8.
Thanks for looking,
Moira

The effect in V1 with the lensbaby is amazing Bill, I have one to try out from my local camera shop but not had time to use it yet. - gary

Both versions are great images but V1 is amazing; I really like the radial blur effect.I am unfamiliar with the term LB and would be interested to know what it is.

Well spotted Moira, not just for the comp but for the potential within the shot, to get the shot takes creative skill this has it all very well done, not an easy lens to work with but this gets no better than this v1 for me all day

At last, at last - so she had pink SmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmile
I'm going for v2 here Moira.
Although the lb effect in v1 is brilliant at making a focus of one flower, it seems very bottom heavy to have the bigger rose, central and bottom as the focus - that may just be my way of looking at it.
Now for the dress please SmileSmileSmileSmile

Thanks everyone. I am still working all hours of the day on the pictures, it will be a few days before I am back properly here.
I'm glad that V1 finds favour - I'll explain a particular reason for that in due course.

Well not only had he never encountered a Lensbaby before but he's a Canon man and unfamiliar with the ways of Nikon. So he messed up all my settings... But I'm very forgiving.
I shall send Nigel full details of the LB in dues course!
Helen, you'll have to wait a few days yet, this is going to be a long haul... Wink
Cheers,
Moira

An excellent demonstration of expert use of a lensbaby. This photo could prove to be expensive.....for me.

The choice of Lensbaby certainly gives you the look which you wanted Moira. Which for those who have not got a Lensbaby could have also been achieved using the 'Fast Zoom Technique', one which I am sure you are familiar with, and one which is great fun, although can sometimes cause damage to the cogs in your lens.

Thanks everyone, I'm back here briefly - we are now in the midst of trying to get The Dress cleaned. All those fine managerial brains involved in the wedding and nobody thought about what would happen to Sarah's finery afterwards...
Nathan, I'm aware of fast zoom technique, but it ain't the same effect. Nothing else bends like the Baby.
