The Wedge

By GordonLack
Thank you all for your comments on my last upload, much appreciated.
Very busy at the moment with the B&B have had only a couple of days free since we returned from France, however did manage to take a break for several hours on Saturday visited the Peterborough Heritage Festival where this image was taken.

Depicting re-enactment soldiers of the Roman army fourteenth & ninth Legions performing a manoeuvre called "The Wedge". This action was used to penetrate the ranks of hostile armies and crowds and is still used by riot police today.
