Just for fun this post is in response to Peter's (Ddolfelin) challenge in my last post to use my drawings to decorate wellies. He had read the poem below on my Facebook page. Let me know which of these designs I should forward to Welly manufacturers for their consideration.

Ode To Wellies

Wellies are my favourite things,
I love them all to pieces,
On doggy walks they keep me dry
And safe from mud and faeces.

The ones that I loved best of all
Were red and bright and shiny,
I had them when I was a child,
In fact when I was tiny.

It really didn't matter
If the Sun was shining bright,
I wanted those red Wellies on
Throughout the day and night.

I think they fired my passion
For the Wellies of today,
And my modern collection
Is lively, bright and gay.

Some are only ankle deep,
Some are very tall,
But lovely, lively patterns
Enliven almost all.

All except the green ones
That I hardly ever wear,
Probably because
There are no patterns there.

I think my bright red Wellies
Raised my expectations,
And made me think that Wellies should
Be lively, bright creations.

So my dull green Hunters stay unworn,
While the dog prints get an airing,
Along with lively flower prints,
And the abstracts, bold and daring.

But still the ones that I loved best
Were my childhood Wellieboots
Because me and them and puddles
Were always in cahoots!
