The Wicker Man

Inspired to upload this from yesterday's trip to the east side of Madeira by Richard and DanBranns uploads today of people at work. Taken in Camacha where the centre of the wicker working industry takes place. Almost all of it is completed by hand and they make anything from tiny decorative wicker peices to giant swans and giraffes as well as all the wine bottle carriers and fruit baskets you can imagine!

As I'm away I only have the iPad to rely on and as per my last few uploads have taken the JPEG directly from the camera to the iPad via the Olympus Share App. A little bit of processing in PS Express or PS Touch for any cropping if required. Here I used PS Express to add a border and Touch to tweak the highlights and shadows.

Any C&C welcome and a change from my recent flower series of images.

He was working fast too and this was a brief pause as he threaded a new wicker strand; you can see the top end of the strand moving due to the relatively slow shutter speed being used.
