I shiver whenever I see images from this notorious spot and not just because it's winter with snow here.

As soon as I saw the image I thought 'very Auschwitz', then I saw your narrative Blush. As previously stated, it is very atmospheric and emotive and so it should be.

Illustrative, if today made quite sterile.
I remember visiting Dachau - what with the museum etc. it felt more like a visitor attraction than the horror it was.

The hunched lighting stanchions almost mimic the poor souls who were within the wire, fading away to shadows.

A somber reminder.
