The Wolfgangsee

The Wolfgangsee is quite rightly one of the most beautiful lakes in Austria.
Framed by high mountains and gentle hills, Lake Wolfgangsee lies like a glittering jewel in the middle of the Salzkammergut.
But it is here that the Alps were folded up millions of years ago. Mighty and beautiful glaciers break through the mountains and brooks, rivers and lakes do the rest to make this spot of earth so magical.

I love the colour of the water, and it looks like heaven on Earth, complete with mountains. What more could one want on a beautiful summer's day.

Amazing colour water. We have a few lakes that are very blue and they always take my breath away. A really lovely image.

Don't think I'd be chancing your position on the lake with my Nikon Z6!! 😲 A great viewpoint though, and a very lovely capture, Ollie 👍 There are some beautiful lakes in Austria, my favourite of the ones I've visited was Achensee on a coach outing when we stopped off at Pertisau 😃
