...and back may follow another day, then again it might not, I might forget or decide not to 🤔😉
This is Ryde Pier. It has a train on the pier from the pier head where the IOW passenger ferry comes in. This year while we were there however, they were not running, cant remember why.
Its a very long pier, I cant tell you exactly but it is one of the longest pier somewhere or other, might be half a mile, might be longer?
Cars run on the pier too and there is a large ferry terminal and a station for the trains at the end.
The trains that run here used to be the old London Tube trains, very old but I cant tell you from which year, maybe the 1950's. They were very rickety and great fun. Last year they were all replaced with new ones ( not sure if they are brand new mind).
Sorry I have not been very informative, Oh yes and the planks on the pier were all replaced a few years ago, that must have been pricey🤑....and sections of the old planks were cut up and made into souvenir items. I did not buy one .....they were too pricey🤨

Thank you all so much for yesterdays C&C and UA's, really appreciated!

A lovely mono, Diane.

Great capture Diane. It certainly is a long pier. The ones we used to have in Morecambe were nowhere near as long as this. 😉

Know it well, though I have never walked it nor taken the train. My brother used to meet us at the sea end in his car when we visited, then drop us back to catch the ferry to England.

Instantly recognisable by the tracks on the right. I remember well walking right to end when visiting there on my IOW holiday back in April 2014, it's a heck of a long walk - about 800 metres, give or take a few centimetres, if you walk right to the very end by the ferry terminal. A fine shot here, Diane, showing off well just how long it is 😃👍🏻
