The path makes a great lead in and you get a lot of depth from the folds in the land. The town visible through the gap makes a good focal point in the distance so your comp is very good. The colours are well saturated but not overdone and there is only a small amount of burnout on the clouds which is trivial and not distracting.
Being formative, there is a lack of FG interest and sometimes getting down lower to the bracken can give the FG more impact without losing the path lead in. This may work especially well if you were at the edge of the path on the right which would ensure the lead in remains visible while adding the FG interest of a bracken frond pointing the way perhaps! Depth of field shouldn't be a problem using a compact camera since their smaller sensors tend to create more DoF. It looks a good location to revisit when the sun is lower in the sky and you may get some interesting shadows thrown across the folds in the hillsides.

I like the variable greens and the mountains are always of great interest to me as everything around me here is flat and uninteresting, having said that I am sure some clever landscape photographer would make me eat my words
