This Day 1915

Today's photo is of my Grandmother's brother Benjamin Macleman, who came from Avoch (the 'v' is silent), a tiny village on the 'Black Isle' in Scotland. He was a regular soldier, and this photo was taken whilst the world was at peace. He died of his wounds after the Battle of Loos. In the war to end all wars which sadly is not the case.

Yes this is a very poignant image and quite a good one at that. These images I think should be preserved for future Reference so that these people who gave their all for us that their decedents and others can put a face to the all so many names on their gravestones and memorials.
