This is Alston, Texas..

By woolybill1
New computer at last - works a bit faster - doesn't like most of my old software - haven't worked out how to reduce pics for uploading yet - been working on the thing for days - eyes dropping out of head - back on epz at least - look'n'click'n'run only - thank goodness I scanned a few old images....

This is another from the off-road trial archives, taken near Alston about 1983. I like the driver's expression, the steam from water hitting the exhaust, the foreign registration plate ....
...Alston is the highest market town in England.....What a way to spend a day......

Great action shot! Looks like that was a lot of fun! It's great to get out and get your truck dirty!

Good look with figuring out how to use your new comp. Im in the same boat at the moment. Im struggling with my new laptop and this is the same, it wont support some of my programes i use.
Never mind, on wards and upwards!

Thanks Rebecca! I seem to be able to cope with the difficult bits; it's the simple ones that cause me the problems!

Good pic, sympathise about the computer - I'm fighting with a new Vista laptop - still doing this from the old desktop XP machine! We will overcome!

He's looking at the marker cane visible beside the vehicle - one touch on the cane and he's out (this is a trial, not a race, remember). He has to pass between sets of two canes - you can just see the top of the other one behind the Land Rover's roll cage.

Thanks for the interest.

I like this, but would not put my 4x4 in a trial like that, it pulls our caravan over muddy fields

Hi Bill
If old photos, even though they are THAT good as this one (see above Smile),bring so many complications to you, why not to take new ones?
Best wishes

Super, love the steam and splash of earth from the tires.
