this is not a black&white photo

this is a colour photo, untreated but for a tiny bit of contrast and the frame. Mono will be version two and in 3 I'll piut a crop with the colour bit Smile
taken on the way to work today...

Some of you asked me here what I meant by 'before the machines have been' This here is another spot, quite close to the other upload, AFTER the machines have been.
And Tomcat is right, it is mostly flat here apart from the valley I go through..

This is a gorgeous scene. I think V1 is my favorite -- brings back childhood memories of when we would wonder the woods during a snowfall.
V3 is 2nd fav. -- I like the comp. in that one.

Like those tiny touches of colour in V1 and the composition is beautiful too. We have snow too at the moment though it didn't actually fall today. Lots of dire warnings re Friday when it looks as though it could get nasty!

Those snowflakes look so big - the landscape looks very bleak.

On a quick glance this could so easily pass as a mono image, Annette, the conditions almost wiping out any colour: very atmospheric with the snow falling.
The natural toning of V 1 makes it my favourite of the first two and I do like the crop in V 3 with that lone tall tree making quite a statement.

Image numbers one and three have been wonderfully observed and composed. The processing adding to the wintery feel quite beautifully.

A natural mono...winter can do that sometimes, while at other times the snow glows like a million jewels. Very nice image, Annette.

So cool that the colour shot looks totally mono! Wonderful. And wonderful shot too, Annette. I prefer the colour one to the BW one. It has a softer and gentler feel to it. V3 is a brilliant crop, by the way! Well seen Smile

I always find it so strange how snow appears to leach practically all the colour from the landscape ... I like all three Annette so they will have to share the vote ... Carol

It sure looks like one to me! This wonderful winter set conveys the bleakness of the season so well I can almost feel the chill from the comfort of my living room
