Three churches

By oldgreyheron
Tonight I have three images of church interiors of vastly differing scale.

The first is of Canterbury Cathedral, a church on the most grand of scales; the second of St Hilda's in Hartlepool, a large parish church; and the third of Christ Church in Great Ayton, a local parish church at Epiphany.

I like the contrasts - I hope that you do too!

All may be worth viewing large - thank you, Mike.

Superb set. My preference is for V2, for the height and the austerity of the tones in the stonework. But I hope you have a close-up of V3's crib for next Christmas!

Really interesting comparisons, all taken from approximately the same viewpoint. I have to express a preference for the stark simplicity of St Hilda's, though the homeliness of Great Ayton has an appeal too. By placing the three together you have given an excellent idea of the scale of the three churches - and the different ambient light qualities!

Thanks for sharing the images, all good shots but for me it has to be V1 Canterbury, like the wide angle showing all the arches - well taken!

#1 is absolutely brilliant Mike, the light and detail in it are superb, the other two are also very good photographs but lack the punch apparent in the first.

Three very different images of church interiors - and each one very beautiful. The wonderful lighting makes #1 my favourite.

Very interesting set, showing the comparisons well. V1 is outstanding though, in composition and exposure. Wonderful shot.

Good set of shots Mike. I like v1 the most for the grandeur of architecture and detail captured.

The detail and the lighting in v1 set it above the other 2, but all interesting interiors
