Through the Barricades ...

By sut68
... must be a Spandau Ballet moment Wink That said, reaching this particular position on an outgoing tide is not recommended at all. The rocks and weed combinations here will quite easily send you into a you pirouette and have you falling over. I managed to stay upright on this occasion ... but only just Grin

Finding a different angle to what I'd normally shoot at New Brighton isn't easy and reverting to type is oh so tempting, but I had my game plan set of capturing something slightly from the norm. I think in general I achieved it, let me know what you think.

A 0.6 ND [Hard] grad and a 0.3 ND [soft] grad helped to hold back the brighter portion of the frame and the Lee BIG stopper helped to smooth things out with the water [an what cloud there was].

Cheers for dropping by, catch up in a short while.

Yo Adrian ... well, whilst we're tenuously on the Rocky theme Wink

There's plenty of those geometric shapes to play with mate, only if you can negotiate them. Don't try it on an incoming tide though as you can't move anywhere quickly ... apart from down that is Sad

Tricks fine with us mate ... did you hear the news? I'm letting her make an honest man of me SmileSmile

How's tricks your end?

Cheers guys, catch up soon, just about to have some dinner.

EDIT: It's a nice box-o-tricks Mari ... hope you are well m'dear Smile

Very nice Paul. I don't recall seeing a shot of the lighthouse including these sea defences before. Your description of getting out to them may partly explain why.

Also well done for taking a Big Stopper shot that doesn't immediately look like a Big Stopper shot!

Yes Mike, probably the clamber is probably the reason they don't feature more often Smile

Glad it doesn't look like a BIG Stopper shot too, always my aim to try to make them look as natural as possible.

Thanks guys,

Its a beauty Paul, well worth the chancing your ankles to get, although I have to say personally I am glad you did not drop your kit in again as I would be ousted as the bringer of bad juju if that had happened again. Wink

A great advert for the big stopper as well I would say. Let you keep everything good about the moment (particularly the lovely light) and smoothed out only the bit that would have otherwise detracted from it.

Top quality.

PMSL ... I was actually thinking the very same thing when I was clambering ... has the big bald man brought bad juju??? Seemingly you'd left it behind on this occasion Wink

Glad you like it too mate, enjoy your day.

Absolutely outstanding image, so pleased to see a different POV for this oft photographed lighthouse. Having said that, your description of getting to it scared the s**t out of me. You take care Paul. Smile
