Thru The Kitchen Window !

By MaryMac
Outside my kitchen window is a grape vine this is what was looking in the kitchen window from that vine its a very dangerous boom slang snake which is highly toxic and as the nearest anti venom center is 1000kms away not a snake to mess with so we had to shoot it as it was impossible to get it out of the vines what you cant see is my cat Archie sat on the wall meowing like a banshee to alert us that the snake was there when it was eventually shot it was almost 1.5 mtrs long as much as I love nature I have to say having such dangerous creatures in my yard really freaks me out !

Love V1 &V2 - it seems to be on the prowl. Would scare me to death even thinking these could be in my garden.

Good heavens! Couldn't work out from thumbnail what was happening, but that's some series and certainly tells the story! I'm starting to think adders are quite good guys, as at least they are shy and only bite unless totally forced into it, unlike this nasty fellow.

Fascinating series of shots; I thought it actually looked kinda cute in #1, but obviously looks can be very deceiving!

Great series of shots (including the ones that killed the snake!). I know South Africa is also full of snakes but in the 18 months I've been living here I've seen only one, a water snake on the dam in the botanical gardens. You did the right thing to kill it, boomslangs are not to be messed with. Isn't it the most venomous snake in Africa?

Anyway, well done on getting some photos of it before it died. The most venomous thing we've had in our garden is an African Guttural Toad but the venom on its belly only causes skin irritation.

Well done!

Beautiful image of the live snake, we had a Black Mamba shoot out behind my wifes ankle whilst in Tanzania. Fascinating experience ! I love snakes, understand what you had to do Mary. Ron.
