The Bay of Fundy has the highest tidal range in the world and the Salmon River empties into it. We stopped by the visitors centre and waited for the bore with quite a lot of people who had brought picnics. As the bore approached they all grabbed their mobile phones and tablets and jumped up to take pictures. The bore filled the river deceptively quickly, bringing the level up to just below the banking, a good 6ft or more.
