Time After Time

By chase
Another of my deconstructed clock images.
The title was suggested on yesterdays' image, I thought it fitted the bill today too.

A 3 frame HDR image, combined in Lightroom, faffed with in Photoshop.
A lighter texture this time and a little friend came to visit Wink

Lit by daylight camera left.

Thanks for dropping by.
Constructive critique and mods welcome.

Love the fine detail here Janet - also the limited palette - classy.
the 'handle' also adds to the overall composition.

Wonderful! You have all these delightfully old, intricate and beautiful things - where the heck do you find them all?!

Clock innards have always fascinated me, so intricate and all those interlocking gear wheels. I like the brass colour standing out against the greys, the three dials and the red of your ladybird cleverly balances the off centre main subject. Super image Janet.

Same as James, fascinated by clock works - grandfather to fusee pocket watches here, wonderful artistic work at ‘just the right time’ 🙂 the ladybird is fun!

These particular bits are from the inside of an old clock I discovered in my loft whilst preparing for a house move Tanya. A screwdriver and pair of pliers later...result Wink
I often find the internal workings of things are much, much more interesting than the whole thing, like James above I find the innards of a clock fascinating, all those wonderful cogs and wheels...yummy !

Now, if that actually worked, then it would make a brilliant steampunk clock to put on your mantelpiece...

You have some great props Jan, and I do like that ladybird that keeps the eye flitting back and forth across the image. Clever Wink

Malc, if it was a steampunk clock you’d put it on your hat, not your mantelpiece.

It does work Malc. It's her moms time and her sisters time and her brothers time. So she knows not to call them in the middle of the night. Love all your old things Janet and how to photograph them so beautifully.

Same here, Janet. Back in December, I bought myself a skeleton watch. It's mechanical of course and automatic winding (though you can wind it with the crown), and underneath the hands, it displays all the workings below. The back too is glass so when not wearing it you can it's workings from the other side 😃
A fine presentation here, love it! ⏰😃👍

I bet that ladybird is really confused, he will not know whether he should be getting up or feeding the babies or going to bed......

Thank you for correcting my abysmal lack of steampunk knowledge, Dave. You are, of course, completely correct about the location.

Now, now chaps Wink.... there are such things, usually made into lamps that you can buy from Steampunk sites and from the events that they hold in various places. One such place is Lincoln, a massive Steampunk event, cancelled last year Sad and of course Whitby. The Steampunk memorabilia on sale at these events is amazeballs !
