Time-consuming work.

By HobbitDave
Inside a Verge Fusee pocket watch from George 111s reign. Made in the 1770s. It still runs. To register as a watchmaker you had to do a seven year apprenticeship.Going by the filigree carving and engraving here you can see why. Such skills and craftsmanship.
Most towns in 17th and 18th centuries had a watchmaker, they were a very respected trade and craft which was often passed down in the family. This watch was made in Attleburgh, Norfolk, about 250 years ago.

Thanks kindly for the clicks and comments on yesterdays upload, they are very welcomed and appreciated 🙂
