Time Machine

This is a section of one of my skeleton watches - I have a few, as I LIKE skeleton movements!

Off-camera flash, and a small torch to aid focusing have allowed me to get right in to the workings so the cogs and springs are nicely visible!

I'm intrigued by the technicalities of the shot, as this kind of thing works best if it's absolutely bitingly sharp, and this isn't...

Was a tripod involved? My guess is that the slight loss of detail is because of camera shake - likely to defy IS in such a close-up. I realsie there's also a lack of depth of field in an image like this, even stopped down.

If I had a watch like this, I'd definitely be shooting it!
