To Boldly Go

By dark_lord
A version of this appeared in my portfolio a number of years ago, since when I had a clearout.

However, following an upload of a moon image and a request for ideas fom heyitshenry in the Critique Gallery and an X-wing fighter flying over a country lane by mistere I thought this deserved another outing.

Slightly tweaked and remastered in HD (basically you can see this large) Smile

Forthe technically minded, The spaceship was shot on a Canon EOS 3 using Fujichrome Provia 100F, the earth on a Fuji compact and the moon on an EOS 5D (I think). The sun and stars were added using Photoshop.

Thank you to everyone commenting or voting on What You Lookin' At? and to Malc (saltireblue), rontear, richmowil and mistere for their UAs.

I'm not sure this would qualify as essential travel, but I suppose we are allowed out once a day. Seriously, that's a superb construction, and the scene reminded me of the sci-fi film Gravity, with George Clooney and Sandra Bullock.

Keith, if you haven't come across it, catch up with James Fox's series Age of the Image. Particularly the final episode, Fake views...

and now for something completely different - an out-of-this-world shot - yes, I dared say it - about this out-standing composite. A cracker it is, Keith. I hope those stars are astronomically correct; I'll leave that to the star gazers to check. Fab. Smile

Lol, my very first thought !
I do hope you weren't outside this spaceship ( boldy going where no-one has gone before ) for very long, not good for your complexion Wink
Very well put together Keith, great dynamics !!

Skillfully put together, Keith, as Eric said about Ernie's hair, 'You can't see the joins'.

Nice work Keith, very well done and a very striking image.
Only one small suggestion (not that i know anything) The halogen floodlight's
a bit of a giveaway. Not quite up to NASA spec. Smile

Convincingly done. The viewpoint works very well, rather than showing us the entire "Spaceship".
My immediate thought was "2001 a Space Odyssey" , I can hear "The Blue Danube".

Amazing look at the blue planet and her sister moon ...I don't remember seeing this the first time Keith ,
so with freshly impressed eyes it gets an instant gong.
Best regards
Walt
