Today's Bargain.......

By cattyal
No masterpiece tonight but I had to show you today's bargain. Not a charity shop this time but one of those emporiums consisting of lots of units filled with all sorts of stuff.

At £20 for both doll and basket there was no way it was staying in the shop Smile

Thanks folks Smile I've not a clue how old the doll is but she's certainly had a hard life. I'll have to inspect her later. I can't figure out what the makers mark is - very faint I'm afraid. I think she's a composition doll ie. glue mixed with sawdust or wood pulp which would put her around 1920s to 1940s though possibly a bit earlier. Presumably she once had a wig and is pretty heavy. Shame she has fabric feet but I won't quibble!

Oh the cat can handle himself Smile
