Today's Bargain.......

By cattyal
No masterpiece tonight but I had to show you today's bargain. Not a charity shop this time but one of those emporiums consisting of lots of units filled with all sorts of stuff.

At 20 for both doll and basket there was no way it was staying in the shop Smile

Makes an absolute horror filled image. I wonder how old the doll really is? Love the cat too.......Sandy

Thanks folks Smile I've not a clue how old the doll is but she's certainly had a hard life. I'll have to inspect her later. I can't figure out what the makers mark is - very faint I'm afraid. I think she's a composition doll ie. glue mixed with sawdust or wood pulp which would put her around 1920s to 1940s though possibly a bit earlier. Presumably she once had a wig and is pretty heavy. Shame she has fabric feet but I won't quibble!

Oh the cat can handle himself Smile
