The salt was to get the tomatoes to stand, because I spent about 20 minutes before that, attempting to get them to stand up straight. Now that I think back on it I probably could have used stickytack or glue though. XD

Yes, flowers, fruit and veg. don't always play along with you and you sometimes need to encourage them or provide additional support.

We are all different and for me the salt ads a whole extra dimension to this wonderful shot, evoking as it does the tantalising taste of salted tomatoes. I don't care why you put it there, that's the effect. I love the gradient arrangement of the tomatoes too.
