Hi Andrew,
Good shot.
I can't help thinking though that that bike's overkill to run sixes at 'only' 180mph.
In the US, pro-stock bikes are going that fast.

I quoted the Top fuel winner's approx time/speed on monday, to give an example, the actual winning time/speed:
FIM Europe Top Fuel Bike Invitational: Ian King 6.3835/179.94
The rider in the above image 'no-showed' for the final.

however....

The result below echoes your statement:
FIM European Super Street Bike Series: Dave Holland 7.2148/206.05 -
slower time but higher speed.......

Yes. I've thought this before. I wonder if it's a power-to-weight ratio thing?
The fuel bikes produce much more power (obviously!) and get from A to B more quickly yet the lighter bikes are able to reach a higher velocity.

Reaction time will play a factor,
and I also wondered about gearing?

Perhaps it's a combination of all of the above but there does seem to be an unnatural difference in their relative performances generally.
I used to enjoy watching the Pro-stock bikes in the NHRA programmes on the telly, sadly, they've left the bikes out this year but they always ran impressively high speeds.
