By goatster
Last of the shots from Scotland.

Not been a fabulous series I know but it was such a fantastic day I felt like sharing the memories.

Ah bonny Scotland lives up to it`s name in this one. Great image that would easily grace calanders etc.

Nice shot Tony, like the blue effect across the frame, looks quite dramatic and a fair old precipice. Clouds are nice as well, good shot. Watch not step backward Smile

Great. It would have been great to be able to make more of the overhanging snow, but because of the overhanging snow, probably inadvisable, (does that make sense?).

I personally think that the blue is overwhelming and unnatural looking on the upload (the highlighted snow looks blue and not white). Having said that, the composition and light is stunning, and with a bit of levels work it'll be perfect.

All the best

Breathtaking! I personally love the blues, gives it an even colder feel, it's not often you look down onto clouds! Gorgeous.

Pete:
I have took the blue down a long way from the RAW file I have, trouble being if I try and get the blue white with the levels you very quickly blow the exposure - ie everything just goes white and the detail is lost. I have tried an 81 filter which warms the colours slightly. Maybe I could change the WB on the RAW file to 6000 (I believe that is pure blue sky).

Please have a go and upload the mod.

Thanks

Wonderful shot Tony. Hope that it looks like this when I get there in March.
At this altitude and under these lighting conditions, the snow is blue, as it reflects the blue light from the sky overhead. All colours are only due to reflected light!
Best wishes, George.

Lovely shot - makes me want to go off and wander in the hills again! Love the colour - even the blue snow looks natural to me!
