Torridon Firestorm

By JohnParminter
Earlier in the year fire swept through many of the tinder dry Scottish glens leaving many of the trees blackened and destroying the heather and bracken. Now in late Autumn the new growth of grass has started the re-generation process.

Its a good abstract and a slightly more unusual take than the usual vertical pans.

Tonality is super , and not concerned without a focal point.

What may have elevated it would be some depth , either shooting for some shallow depth in cam or some pp to pull that foreground tree out.

Id like to walk into the image , but its a wall Smile

Good comments Ev.

I needed a 2 sec exposure to get my pan length which meant an aperture of f/16 and ISO 100 even with a polariser and ND filter on so I had to go with a large DOF however, I see your point about the depth and its very valid.

Its a bit experimental for me anyway as I never do this type of shot normally.

Go into the woods with a 6 sec , (find that place) loosen the ball on the tripod so it naturally drifts down , rather than hand held.

Base around that image with some some masked and sharper same pov images. Its what Ursula does .

Lovely art....
