The alarm rang at 03:45 as we had to drive nearly an hour and a half to make Little Cottonwood Canyon before sunrise. I noticed the clouds as we drove south and the Supermoon had little chance of making an appearance on this dreary morning. Drops of rain started pelting the windshield and my wife gave me the evil eye for rousing her so early. Finally we arrived and as soon as we opened the door mosquitos gave us a proper greeting. The rain had aroused them and they were fierce! The hounded us most of the way up, only relenting as we approached the top of the trail. Finally the clouds parted and this moment made it all worth the trouble...touched.
