This is a beautiful cave situated under "saint Anargiroi" chapel in Protaras.
I was in the area for shooting the sunrise and this cave was my plan B in case my first choice was not working. The First choice did not looked so good so I rushed to my plan B. I miscalculated the time needed to get there though. I should have been in the cave with the camera ready five or so minutes earlier. the sun was a bit higher than I liked and the contrast really high , especially with the glass like water surface in the mid ground , so I had a bit of a problem to handle in post process. The situation "called" for an HDR method but I feel that the end result with the HDR lacks the reality of the moment. So ... a single Raw file slightly underexposed so as not to clip the highlights. Nikon D800 with Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 + Nisi filter holder with 10 stop ND plus 3 stop soft grad ND. Exposure ...36,0 sec; f/6,3; ISO 100 Basic post process with added dark gradient to tame the bright sky and a "glow" ( Orton variation) added to smooth the highlights a bit more. A challenging place that I have to revisit with different conditions.
