tourists II

By paulstefan
I submitted this for the 'Great' competition a while back and meant to upload to my p/f. So here it is..

A well known view but with some emphasis on the tourists and a splash of post production Wink

Cheers for looking,

hi paul,

certainly up to your usual magnificent standard. *applause*

interesting that you used a portrait crop for this shot? maybe what makes this special to look at is that its away from the usual "panoramic" style presentation?

excellent work, well done, ads :o)

Thanks folks.
It's taken from a single RAW, but blended multi exposures (so, kinda HDR) and then tone mapped.
Cheers, Paul

Ah, I see!

Whilst I'm sure you don't want to give away your technique, when you say multi exposures, do you mean that you exposed for different elements of the shot (ie, shadows, highlights etc)?

A fine shot Paul with a great sense of scale. Subtle post-processing adds to the drama, but I do find the foreground less well toned than the middle and background. It's darker and murkier looking. Would it be worth dodging to lighten the foreground up a little?

Humbly Yours, Dave.

Superb image with post production. May be removing the odd figuers that are cut on the sides of frame would make this even stronger Paul. Ron.
