A view of the BT Telecom Tower not viewable from the road. It was taken from Parliament Hill about 4 miles away. You can see where there used to be a revolving restaurant.

I remember when this was opened with shedloads of pomp and ceremony in the '60s. The revolving restaurant was a popular talking point.

Those three balconies below the restaurant were once the viewing platforms used by visiting members of the public.
The top one's enclosed, the middle one's got glass around part of it and the lowest one's open to the elements.
They were accessed via what was then, the fastest passenger lift in the world. It took off with enough force to make your knees buckle.
The tower, if I remember correctly, stands about 630 feet tall and sways about 6 feet from side to side.
You can feel it moving while you're up there.
