I like to patrol a local Sunday market with my camera at the hip and shoot by guesswork. I get a lot of rubbish, but a few reasonable shots and it is amazing how the aim improves!

Have a go. Do everything the absolute beginner way - auto exposure, multi-point focus and metering. Wide end of zoom (mostly) and blaze away. I carry the camera over the shoulder with my hands over the top and gaze about without looking directly at my subject, but with one finger on the shutter button. It is very good fun - back to the hunt!
