Good work, this is very typical of DJ PR shots with his expression and the energy provided by the light trails. It would look good as a cover for a compilation CD. -click-

Great modern DJ shot - ace work. Could see it with big white text on top on a flyer. Congrats on the award.

Excellent. Vibrant. Only thing I'd say is the background is landscape, and he is portrait, if you know what I mean. Doesn't quite fit to me, but still a great image and good work putting the two shots together.

Nice - works really well with the movement even in the buildings

The only thing that niggles me is that the first building on the right has no movement

Reminds me of one of the Global Underground Series. Good blur of the background motion and natural looking, despite the composite. The mix of elements works really well.

Well, it must be me - because it just looks like the model has been stuck in front of a background rather than actually "being there".

Sorry, but I thought the idea was to make the model look as if he was actually in the scene.

I did one once of Zoe with her bike (since removed) where I just changed the background and got several comments stating that it looked like the background had just been changed.

To me the this shot doesn't look that much different. Yet this one gets an EC.

I assume you are refering to me, Stu. Sorry, but do you expect everyone to like the same images? Or is it a case of "If you don't like it, don't say?"

park my ferret 15 1.0k United Kingdom
6 May 2005 2:46AM
I partly agree that it doesn't look realistic, but then this shot is almost impossible to do 'realisticly' unless the person is in complele darkness, so theres no precident for how it should look really - long exp on it's own just produces a blurred orangy image, flash with long exp looks ok, but any light at all on the person blurs his image and so ruins the photo, believe me I tried evey option, In truth he was in the location - the tripod was locked off and two exposures used, and then blended. And it's supposed to be a creative portrait, so I don't think it needs to look photographically 'accurate' , just interesting.

anyway - cheers to everyone that liked it.

Really eye catching shot for the front page of epz, so what if its not 'realistic' or naturalistic, works well for me.

I guessed it was yours straight away, with the Birmingham backdrop, the design and subject.

Superb shot and congrats with the EC,

Saw a "slight" neg comment on the hoodie branding, before I read the comments I was actually going to say about how I thought it added to the feel of the image!
