I took this shot principally for the light and shadows and the way in which the gravestones were packed together.

However, look at the grave in the f/g and you will see that it is for a mother and her five children, three of which died in their first year.

And we think we have it hard.

Hope you don't think it too macabre and as always it looks best large.

Malcolm i like this for so many reasons and one being the repetative pattern of the head stones but all different and as you said i magnafied the inscriptions on the stone and kinda gives a sense of how far we have come in the medical profession as probably there is cures today that didn't exsist back then!

stay well

Unusual subject Malcolm, the narrative and inscriptions are thought provoking, youve captured some very nice dappled light in the foreground, bringing out some super tones and texture in the headstones.

I love the light and shadows Malcolm.
Don't know if you've ever done family history, but it makes you weep, some of the things you come across. We do take our modern lives for granted and aren't we lucky really,

Not macabre at all, Malcolm - these are the places we find our histories. I really like this shot; the light and shadows are wonderful, and the wording is so clear. Click!
