Nice mono. Particularly like the way the crowd is moving toward the tram. Well done.

The people are moving towards the tram and also between the two sets of curving lines.

beautiful atmosphere captured, Ellie, with the fog and the blue tones giving a tactile sense of a drowsy morning.
there are just a couple of things distracting my eye: the slightly leaning lamp posts and the figure on the left which is a bit too evident in comparison with the other people (see mod).

This shot has quite an oppressive feel to it, with the cold, grey weather and the power lines acting like a cage. The people remind me of Lowery's stick figures, buttoned up tightly against the elements.

In the mod I tried to make this feeling more tangible by converting to mono and using curves and masks to selectively alter the lights and darks. I added grain as well to introduce a gritty, grimy feeling to the image.

The photo's well composed and the subject is a very good one.

francesco - Thank you. I even did try and straighten it a bit but... you are right! I was a bit unsure about what to do with the garbage man on the left. He is the only person that doesn't really fit in Smile He had this bright yellow jacket - hm he does look a bit like satan clause. I mean santa clause. Smile

Alan - love your version too! To me it adds a much darker and depressed mood. It is really an eye-opener to how post processing can totally change the mood of an image. I also love how you have made the tracks stand out more in the front there.

I really love this image - it is so full of atmosphere - would make a great opening to a film I reckon - it leads me in and I want to know more.........

I had to come back to this image. I know there is slightly wonky lamp post - but that's okay - maybe it is leaning anyway! LOL - and the man on the left does fit in for me as he is nearer to the camera and so would be more pronounced - as it would be to the human eye. I this is a great image and am very happy to award my UA for the week.

All the best - Sue

Thank you sue for the User Award! I agree on the lamp post and the man - and so did francesco (fr67) who uploaded a mod for it. I am so grateful for the help at Epz! The man will have to go away altogether in the end I think Smile

Something "other-worldly" about the mood of this scene -- interesting! Same for your OSLO TOWN HALL shot. Both are creative, orginal visions. Nice! - Rob
